Leadership Beliefs

Our history

Payson Bible Church launched in 1970. The church was planted and began in a little antique building on Main Street in Payson. The point was, and still is, to preach the good news of the Gospel to the community and to create a fellowship of believers in southern Utah County. A few years after moving into the first building, the people at PBC built another building next to the old church.

In 2008, construction on the current building (pictured above) began. In March 2010, the people at Payson Bible Church moved in. God gets all of the glory. To read more about our current building, click here.

Our goal

The big idea is for all people to glorify the living God, the God we read about in the Bible. Men exist for the purpose of glorifying God.

This big idea can be broken into parts. First, we must tell people of Jesus paying for our sins on the cross and invite them to believe in Him. Second, we must help those new believers to know God and live a life that honors Him. Third, we must serve people, inside and outside of the church. Out of these truths, we’ve created a clear mission: We exist to equip God’s people to serve in the church and in the community.

Our mission can be accomplished by God’s grace. Here are the five values at the core of our mission:

  1. We study the Bible because it is the whole counsel of God.
  2. We prioritize prayer in this life as we live for the next.
  3. We live for God wherever we are, knowing He has put us there.
  4. We love each other and cherish the fellowship of God’s people.
  5. We proclaim the gospel to the whole world so that they may be saved.
