During our gatherings on Sundays and Tuesday nights, we make the nursery available. Our nursery is a large space for kids to play and offers a variety of toys, books, and puzzles. It also has easy bathroom access for the little ones and an attached nursing room with a changing table and a crib. Women from the congregation volunteer to look after the kids in the nursery each week.
We find in Titus 2 a message to the women in the church:
“Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.”
Taking care of the children in the church is a ministry we value highly. Children are the future and our desire is to see them grow up to be wise and godly. The Lord has given women a natural ability to care for little ones and their ministry in this area allows parents to get the most out of the service.
